This is a video I made in response to Brian who asked me to put up something a little easier. The edits are a little weired because I had to get it down under 10 min. Here is a simple exercise that will help you get faster at doubles and singles in succession on the bass drum. It is also a good warm up exercise and if moved around the kit makes a decent fill. Sticking: R L K K R K L K R L K K R K L K R L K K R L K K R K L K R K L K

This lesson is a tiny bit sporadic; the original idea was to teach a short lesson on the 32nd note lick on beat 4. As I was filming I kept getting new ideas and kept adding to the video. It turned out to be 40 minutes of video, which I squeezed down to 10. The concept here is to show how small ideas can go a long way if you take the time to experiment with them. Have fun and practice slow, there is a little something for everyone in this one.

This is a linear version of the half time (purdie) shuffle. I also use it towards the end as a really fast groove fill, idea. Link to the sheet music. Please let me know if this link works.

This is a groove trascribed from Akira Jimbo's Wasabi DVD. It is a cool latin groove with a left foot son clave pattern. Link the the sheet music Here: Sheet Music
