It’s time to continue our journey with the 1/2 Time Shuffle. Today we’re going to add ghost notes on the snare.
In the follow up for Part 1, we’re going to expand the kick drum rhythms. We’re still keeping the shuffle hi-hat with 2 & 4 on the snare. For today’s lesson, we’re going to add the first & last triplet as a possible pattern for the kick.
We begin our journey into Blues Shuffle workouts by playing the standard shuffle hi-hat with 2 & 4 on the snare. For this lesson, we’re going to play the rhythms from the download PDF on the kick drum to explore some groove possibilities.

This one’s fun!! In today’s lesson we’re going to begin to create a series of grooves by reading rhythms on the kick from the PDF download sheet. Remember to keep the hand pattern consistent throughout. This is some funky stuff….enjoy!
Here's the follow up to Funk Shuffle Workout Part 1. In this lesson we're going use the same hand pattern from part one and begin to explore playing various 16th note rhythms with the kick drum. Today we're going to play all of the 1 & 2 note possibilities for every beat of the groove. This exercise will help prepare you for putting these patterns together randomly to create a series of Funk Shuffle Grooves in the future. Enjoy!
