great lesson on the flam, gotta try that :-) I like to use both sticks to do a flange sound with 16 notes starting from the tip of the sticks and slowly deepening the sound as you head toward the middle of the sticks and back up again...very cool affect :-) Thanks again Billy!!

In a future lesson,
how about a lesson on flipping the stick around from playing butt-end-side-stick to regular grip for a fill and back again? This technique is changeling (for me, for sure)

Great idea...thanks! You're right, it is very challenging to pull off. I've been guilty of doing fills with the butt end only to wind up putting small dents in my tom heads!!
