Ray Luzier Goes to ddrum!

Not only is Ray Luzier the newest member of the band Korn, he is also the latest artist on the roster to be endorsed by the ddrum company. At this time we are unsure why Ray (formerly with OCDP) made the jump to ddrum. Inside sources claim it was due to customer service issues. Today, on 12.07.2007, Gibson Guitars released the Robot Guitar. We here at Drummer Connection obtained one of these beauties for our studios and have had a chance to play around with it.

Drummer Connection DVD Pick: Hal Leonard Trust Your Ears: The Drum Tech Explorations of Jeff Ocheltree

After racking up a few DVD's for purchase, I snagged the Hal Leonard Trust Your Ears: The Drum Tech Explorations of Jeff Ocheltree DVD and began watching it today. At first, it looked like a dated DVD that was not of the best quality, but this DVD had many things to offer that is worth the $20 purchase.

Get a Great Sound for a Great Price!

Have you ever been to a concert and seen all those famous drummers with their nice mic'd up high-end drum kits? They sound nice, big, and impressive. Most drummers see those drums and immediately think that you can only get that sound by spending loads of money on those high-end drum kits. This isn't necessarily true. I recently went to a show, and one of the band's drummer had a Pacific MXR drum kit. Just hearing the sound check for the drums gave a great impression on their live sound. Without looking anyone could have mistook them for any high-end drum kit. Pacific(by DW) are starting to move up in their line of drums by going up on quality, and keeping a great price. Drum-Off 2007: District Finals

Guitar Center Orlando hosted the next heat of it's annual Drum-Off 2007.The winners of 8 stores within the southern district now had to battle it out for over $2000 in prizes and bragging rights for one of the worlds most famous drum competition's. Tension was thick as audience members and participants alike waited for the judges final decision. In the end it was Ruffin Jackson who stood out to become this years District Champion and earned the right to move on the Regional Finals in Clearlake,TX on Nov. 14th. Ruffin,store winner of Baton Rouge-La, has been playing drums for all of his life. Having toured with the group "Too Hypnotic" Ruffin now spends time sharing his talent with fellow musicians and playing for his home church back in Louisiana. Ironically, after speaking with Ruffin, he mentioned that while working for DHL he injured his right foot during a freight delivery the day before! Limping to the stage ever so humble, Mr. Jackson gained the respect and support of his fellow brethren as we wish him good luck and a speedy recovery.
