DCI's The Countdown Goes Onsale Today!!!

The results are in! Thousands of drum corps fans have cast ballots to select their six favorite corps performances from 2005-2007 to be shown on the big screen for Drum Corps International’s spring cinema event. “The Countdown” will appear in more than 300 movie theaters across the country for only one night – Thursday, April 24.

Nine Volt Audio's Release of Action Drums-Taiko Drum Sounds

Nine Volt Audio has found a way to let you make your own taiko drum rhythms at home without filling the room with those monster taiko drums. They have came out with computer software that lets you create your own taiko drum parts in the studio on your computer! Here is the details in their own words:

Aaron Spears Public Jam Session: Baltimore, MD

DW artist Aaron Spears and DC Unity Movement will be having an open jam session for the public 3/28/08. Also associated with GDIC http://www.gogdic.com/ headed by Dean West, who mentioned that they hope to turn this into a monthly event every 4th Sunday. In Memory of Johnathan Fowler 11/21/65 - 3/21/08

Although we at Drummer Connection did not know John personally, we would like to take a moment to pay our respects and celebrate the life of this great musician as he will surely be missed by all who knew him. John has played for many bands and various projects throughout his career.

William F. Ludwig II 1917-2008

We at Drummer Connection help mourn the death of William F. Ludwig II. He played a major role in the Ludwig Company and the music industry as a whole. It hits me really hard to hear this being my favorite snare drum is the Ludwig Supraphonic 402. Rest in Peace. We have some words from Jim Catalano from Ludwig...

New Updates on Revolution Drum Website.

Revolution Drum Accessories is a new company with a more stylistic approach to drum accessories. Although the web site is currently operational their staff is working around the clock with updates and news on all existing products, as well as future projects that before were only available through specific vendors.

Medicine Man Drums has just revamped their entire website with a whole new look! They've also introduced Josh Burris as the new Artist Relations Manager. Medicine Man is currently accepting applications for their discounted endorser program. I personally own a 6 piece set of these magnificent drums along with the first 10 in snare ever produced by the line. And I must say....they can stand up to any other major manufacturer out there. They are currently in the process of securing a booth at the Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, TN.
