jkdrumboy Says This is "4-against-3"

Submitted On: Wednesday, Jun 16, 2010 - 10:38 PM

This is "4-against-3" actually....not trying to be a jerk but there is actually a difference...."3 against 4" occurs in a triplet framework where every 4th note is played or emphasized...and in the case of Eulogy, the hh open occurs every third 16th pulse within a group of 3 hi-hat hits (hit-hit-rest).

HOWEVER, the video is still informative but I think there is value in "reference", no?

rvantassel Says Nice Job

I played this tune with an old band, and people always came up to me and were in awe of that part. What a cool little part!

Nice job in the explanation, thorough and easy to understand, what more does anyone need?

I hope that I am not bursting a bubble but this vid is something I found I thought would be informative and is not me playing, something I found online. BUT I am going to continue to find as many informative videos as I can to help people out here as I dont have the skills necessary to provide my own at this point.
This video reminded me of how well you break down your lessons so I thought it would be a nice add.
Im good at finding things online so if anyone else has anything they would like to see ask Billy and I'll do what I can to find something online somewhere !!

drumfreak Says My bad that was bad

My bad that was bad info.. he played for University of Kansas Jayhawks - from wikipedia:

"Carey is a fan of the University of Kansas Jayhawks. He occasionally wears a Kansas basketball jersey at Tool concerts, with the number 22 and name "Carey" on the back. The jersey's name and number are that of Jeff Carey, who played at Kansas from 1999-2002. The two are not related to each other, but Jeff Carey's roommate and fellow teammate of the Jayhawks, Eric Chenowith, was a fan and told Danny about the idea. Danny was happy to wear the jersey to show his Jayhawk support."
