Great lesson Billy!
I have found that not crashing after the fill or leaving the kick drum out on the one after the fill is interesting too. (If not moderately challenging, for me at least).
This lesson was fairly easy for me... (Yeah! I am making some progress)... but still way Fun!

Sweet! Yeah, I really like leaving the crash or even the kick drum out when coming out of a fill....I love the tension it creates :) Good point!

Great video Billy. As a drummer your videos have given me a lot of ideas and lots of new things to work on. As a drum teacher, I have a difficult time getting students to grasp the versatility of using one rhythmic fill in multiple applications. They only want to play exactly what is written or what they've heard me play. I like the idea of writing out a rhythm and having them experiment by moving it to different drums. Keep up the great work!

Hey Shane,
Thanks! Yeah I know what you mean. I try very hard to get my students to think creatively when practicing. There are SO many ways to apply concepts to the kit...it's amazing! I was taught that way years ago and I think it is what has helped me grow into the player I am today.
Thanks again for watching!
