Billy, I tried out this method of Head changing/tuning on my old Tama Rockstars...using Remo ebonys on the resonance side and clear pinstripes on the batter side tuned higher on the resonance side like you showed. Even with the lower quality Birch/Basswood shells and the odd sizes (8", 10" 13" racks, the 12" had a bad dent on the bearing edge and a small crack in the outer plys, making it useless..and 16" floor...the sound is amazing and the decay is sweet! Thanks!
