I have a question, How does everyone feel abut triggering your bass drum for live shows? I have been toying with the idea for a while now and am still trying to find the best trigger to use. What types of bass drum triggers do all of you suggest using? And, are they really worth it?

Well I have an Alesis D4 an antique ,but I know how to use it, Ive had a lot of people say my drums sound awesome well I trigger and mike ,BUT i ALWAYS TRIGGER the Kick,I have my own monitor system ,I use cheap radio shack transducers they are much better than triggers a lot less sensitive,I just take wire put a jack on it and tape it on ,but with the costs of 90s brains Roland,, Alesis, if I were you Id get an Alesis d4 on ebay. pretty cheap trigger with a mike or buy some and if youre using a d4 or dm5((not much difference)you can get awewsome different kicks and if you set up your monitor like me you will love the sound on stage and off

Hey dude whats up? um Honestly I have 0 (zero) experience with drum triggering. BUT, when I worked at a drum shop, there was an add on drum trigger pack by Simmons that we had to put on display so people could try it out. Given the fact that we hooked it up to a, what was it, a 10 inch drum monitor, it didn't have the best sound. This came with 2 triggers and sound module, one for the snare and one for the kick, I didn't really like it, the sound module had some really cheesy FX. Now this is just what i hear from word of mouth, but i the ddrum drum triggers i hear are good, again I've never heard them live or anywhere. Just good reviews. Oh and the Simmons trigger were always falling off, the glue dose not last very long.
