Nothing quite ruins your sound or budget like a cracked cymbal. We've all seen it before: it starts as a small crack, either running up or around the cymbal. Gradually it turns from a smooth crack to a zig zag pattern that eventually makes the cymbal chip off in pieces until you end up with something that looks like the Cookie Monster got a hold of. The problem with drilling the crack is that the "crack" itself has several microscopic fractures extending past what the naked eye can see. After a little research I found a really good article on a fellow website that can be a great help to those wishing to extend the longevity of their cracked and damaged cymbals.
