What's your drum set up?

sadash27 - Tue, 05/19/2009 - 09:21 | 8,034 views

Hey.

Post what your set is, and how it's set up.

Like, discribe all the pieces to it, and if possable explain where everything is.

Oh, and please tell us your style (right handed crossed, right hand open, left hand cross, left hand open, etc.)

Oh and here's mine:
*Ludwig 5 piece accent series black, but I don't usually use the "right" tom. Just the smaller one.
*Floor tom to the right, snare in the middle, hi-hat down low to the left (because I play left handed open) *tom in the upper left above bass drum and crash ride moves from time to time.

Here's what I want to be added on:
*Double Bass Pedal
*16" Crash Cymbal (W/Straight Cymbal Stand)
*Splash Cymbal (W/Mount)
*China Cymbal (W/Straight Cymbal Stand)
*And maybe a few others like moon-blocks, tambourine, cowbell, or MAYBE a ride (but I don't really like 'em)

What about you?

Thanks.

I HATE it when you see a cool kit that's set up all wrong because the drummer thinks it "just looks cool". I can't tell you how many times I'll go to someones house or at a show and you can SEE how much they struggle to move around the kit because the set up is JACKED! We all go through phases with our playing as we evolve, but after a while you go with what works, not with what's cool. EXAMPLE: Zildjian's pitch black cymbals and Pearls Anarchy cowbell-Cool yes (I guess) Works-NO! Old saying...."a lazy man works twice as hard", I say- "an ignorant shopper buys twice!" Save your money and just get what works and what sounds good the first time around.
