Lately,
honestly...
I feel a bit of trepidation toward the drums lately. I can take any rock/metal/progressive beat pattern and destroy it, then rebuild it and find the concept and understanding in finding that correct feel while performing that certain pattern.
I have wanted to break away from containing myself in something so solidified as Rock and Metal.
True: I play a lot of progressive tunes.
But I find myself in moods ranging from dissatisfaction to almost utter boredom and sometimes contempt because I feel that there could be more in what my project and I are creating together.
I don't know honestly, I am happy with the progress and success the projects, I have beneath my belt, have going on for them.
I just feel that there is something missing in the things that we are playing lately, perhaps a more, experimental outlook?
So the things that I look at working on lately? Expanding the horizons behind what I play, I would like to look into some jazz of course, that is obvious for a progressive drum/percussionist.
Secondary? I need to seriously recap on reading Sheet Music.
And lastly? Finding Endorsements and promotional partners for my projects that have none.

I want to work on my independence as well so I can start getting into Latin/Jazz music. I can play certain beats but I'm not really "feeling" the music. I wanna get touchy feely with it, creepy like, so I can get nasty with it! NASTY- I wanna be NASTY! But seriously, I hear certain people play latin fills in a rock or gospel groove and it sounds way cool.... I WANNA BE NASTY!

ok cool, I would like to brush up and get better at reading music. My limb independace and timing really could use a tune up! I uh, def need to hit up the drum shop and get my oil changed, so to speak. Better yet I could use a whole new engine. =)

I wish I practiced more... I usually end up jamming to metronomes and playing to drumless tracks from https://DrummerConnection.com/playalongs
