Morgan Rose - Sevendust Interview

Morgan Rose - Sevendust Interview

There are bands who tour with groups like Creed, and there are bands who tour with groups like Slipknot, but none that can do both…unless of course you're Sevendust. Many bands within the metal music scene get trapped in the classic stereotype of being just "a bunch of noise," but Sevendust has always found that perfect mix of harmony vs. hostility - thus creating a sound that is truly unique in its own. Their chunky guitar riffs matched with aggressive, yet soulful lyrics have been attracting many artists who have studied, but can never duplicate their individual style. One of their key components is the loud screaming, hard hitting, deranged Alien Freak himself…Morgan Rose. An influence to just about every drummer in the metal genre we had the chance to speak with Morgan after a show to get his take on the new Sevendust album, and his opinion on what has helped the group withstand the test of time.

Hannah Ford - Interview

The contraption known as the "trap set" or "drum kit" was developed out of necessity over 100 years ago and has since revolutionized the way we play drums. People of all ages, races, and creeds have made their contributions to perfect the instrument and how it's played. However, women who have found themselves underneath it's spotlight have been very few and far between. Some cultures have even viewed the drums as being "unladylike& ... more »

Jan Koster - Interview

When playing drums the placement of your kit means everything. Not having your equipment properly set up and anchored can cause you to become distracted and really affect the outcome of your performance. Having to deal with kick drums and hardware sliding away from you has been a continuous problem even with the advancement of drum rugs.
