David's career really took off around 1997 when he started to land
some of the more high profile sessions and live gigs both in and
outside of the Nashville scene. His long and versatile list of playing
and recording credits includes work with Legendary Rock Guitarist Les
Dudek, John Waite, The James Brown Horns, Shane Theriot. Country
Artists Joe Diffie, Doug Stone, Tanya Tucker, Rebecca Lynn Howard,
Lila McCann, Jo Dee Messina, Jo-El Sonnier and Jam Band Sensation The
Disco Biscuits just to name a few.
Northrup's Drum Clinics emphasize the importance of approaching the
drum set musically. He demonstrates various styles and grooves,
performing with tracks of Recordings he's performed on. From Country to
New Orleans Funk Jazz, he discusses the importance of being a well
rounded musician with background in many styles. He touches on the
Nashville Number System and his thoughts on the importance of reading.
He discusses life on the road with some of Nashville's Biggest Country
