So I just got myself some double pedals and I just wanted to come on here and ask you guys what exercises you guys thought worked well to develop better limb independence.
Also, what did you guys do to get your "bad" foot up to speed?

Cool, thanks for the tips ;D. I'll look for that at the music store near my house next time I'm over there.

The key is to start out slow so your body understands the motions and it becomes part of your muscle memory. Too many drummers get a double pedal and want to start playing at 100mph. Just be patient and take your time to build that perfect combination of strength, endurance, coordination, and flexibility. There is a lot of great information out there to help you with this. Endless Youtube clips and books you can read. The book I recommend is Stick Control by George Lawrence Stone. It is a must have and most music stores actually keep it stocked. The majority of those exercises can be applied to the and and feet. Experiment by playing standard drum rudiments like paradiddles and paradiddle diddles with your feet. Something else I like to work on for my weak foot is to constantly play 8th notes on the hihat when playing a beat.

That's why they call him the King. I agree 100%... most definitely pick up stick control. Remember, pretty much all of your basic warm ups for the hands can be, and should be applied for your feet if you're a double kick drummer.
and if you're a drumline guy this should be easy, take your dugga dugga burr exercise, your double beats, triple beats, and tap accent exercises and use'em down there...
