I might be buying a new four piece drum shell set. it comes with a 14" snare a 12" rack tom, 16" floor tom, and a 20" bass drum. im looking at evans heads for these drums. if you could put your input on which heads from evans u like. that would b nice. i have remos on my other set and I'm expanding my horizons maybe.

MAYBE ADD WHAT DRUMS AND SHELL MATERIAL THEY ARE AND THE TYPE OF MUSIC OR SOUND YOU HAVE IN YOUR KNOGEN YOUD LIKE TO GET OUT OF THESE. MY CHEAPER KIT SOUNDS GREAT WITH GPLUSES, THEY ALSO SOUNDED OK WITH G2'S BUT A BIT MORE DEAD FROM THE SHELL. MY DW KIT USES G2 ON RACKS WITH EC2 ON FLOORS. CHECK THE VIDEOS I HAVE FOR SOUND COMPARISSON

Depends on the style of music you play. Most head companies make similar models. So if you use coated Ambassadors, go with coated G1's. If clear Emperors go with clear G2's. I use Remo Renaissance series heads so I would look into Evans J1 Etched series. I've played these on other kits and they are a great head.

Thanks to you both. but is looks like I'm gonna buy a rack for my existing set. i was planning on making a jazz style set. Just kinda for easy switching between types. i prefer the traditional jazz 4 pc set. and the set was the same price as the rack. so i decided to get the rack because i have a couple of cymbals sitting around that i want to put on my set but didnt have stands to so im saving for a rack. like i said i had all remos on my other set. emperors on top and ambassadors on the bottom.

I use Evans G2's over G1's and EQ3 on the kick. Remo Ambassador for the snare. I like them a lot. Try the EC2 supposed to be good!
