Hey y'all. Haven't introduced myself I guess. You can certainly check out my profile to see what I do and hear some original songs I've written and performed all by my lonesome because as you know, it's hard to get people to do what you want them to sometimes *laughs*. But that being said, I have a Roland TD9-SX, the PM30 (the Roland monitor with sattellite speakers), a Boss BR900 8 track, guitars, bass and keys and then I master everything using Garageband. I have been making money playing since I was 4 (back in 1970 $20 was a lot of money to a kid). I have been in numerous bands over that time. My only claim to fame, so to speak, is that I got to sit in with Koko Taylor for a set back in 1998. Drop by my profile and leave me a message. I am always happy to talk about my experiences in music. The good, the bad and the funny.

@ Kyle - I actually play guitar and keys too. Other musicians get a kick out of finding out I know what a A#m7 is if they don't already know me lol. I might bring the 8-track to next week's jam as it has a condenser mic with phantom power. I should start a better archive of my playing. And try to find those former band memners that may have recording and digitize those as well. I'm really itching to buy camcorder or borrow one from a relative sooner rather than later. I want some high-fidelity sounds too.

Well, played at an open jam session last night at one of this area's well-known and notortious biker bars. Funny thing was, there might have been 15 bikers and everyone else was 60+ years old. The band, which is exceptionally talented (the bass player and I used to be in a group together) cranked out hits from the 50's and 60's. I got to play a vintage 1963 Slingerland for a set and then played bass for 1/2 set. In the end, I had a good time playing for valentine clad people old enough to be my mom (God rest her soul) and I was told that my chops are very much in tact.

I live in Wisconsin. For music, like I said I record at home. I also play in our church rock band. And I am a nerd, I play handbells too. I hit the jam sessions around here and see some of the local artists. Wisconsin is a tough place for music. We have the one major music festival "Summerfest" which used to feature a lot of local acts but now brings in "B" level national acts in their place. It makes me sad that we aren't treted to more local flavor.
You will love the Roland kit. It amazes me after a year of owning it. I have played live with it once and all the non-drummists were impressed as well they should be :) And for recording, nothing beats the ability to just have a R and L input as opposed to having to mic everything. Otherwise just trying to stay warm in winter is about all. I hear you folks have had some winter yourselves,
Peace!
