New to the scene

Hey All,
Well after many years of being a guitarist and keyboardist...and wanting so bad to learn to play the drums I bought a kit the other day and here I am... I found this site by looking up as much info on drums as I could..Great site and look forward to being a part of this...

Welcome to the site man!! Im new here as well and instantly fell in love. Hoping to get myself my first set pretty soon !! Whether you post questions here, in your blog, or as comments to some of the video lessons there is plenty of expertise floating around this site that I'm sure will get answered.
Drumfreak has a sweet setup where most things posted show up on "The Wall" and helps give things good exposure.

Cool and thank you for the heads up.... I will see what I can find here in town as far as lessons and if I find someone who does a good job I will post it....

Try starting with our drum lessons: https://DrummerConnection.com/drumlessons and get going with https://DrummerConnection.com/playalongs have fun, share your experience! Also, jam with other people as much as possible, take lessons from a real life instructor - especially in the beginning it's very important in learning how to play properly and avoid injury and wasting time. Go see a local drum teacher / instructor for your first lessons, get a 4/4 beat down and go from there. Peace!!

Im basically a self taught hacker at drums since childhood, so Im not sure what would be a good first step. Not knowing any better, my guess is that since you are an experienced musician, you could make the most of local private lessons in a short amount of time. Hopefully other more qualified suggestions with post soon.
