Hiya...
I gotta little problem with my Bass Pedal... It has decided it is a mouse. Basically it's very squeaky. Is it cos I'm not pressing it hard enough... or does it need oiling? (are you even ment to oil your bass pedal???) I don't know... or am I just really stupid?
Sorry...
I started drumming on the 10/10/09 with a second hand drum kit.

Silicon based lubricant will do the trick, but be careful not to get it on your pedal board, it can make it hard to get any sort of traction on it :p

I play an old Speed King and it occasionally squeaks like a mofo. I lube it up and we're good to go again.
FWIW, as a gearhead and car geek I've been taught that WD-40 is NOT a very good lubricant.
Try any silicon lube spray, or Multi-Purpose Lubricant, sold as MPL at autoparts stores.

Silicon lube spray does sound better, but why not WD?

WD-40 is actually not designed to be a lubricant.
It is actually a "water-displacement" (hence, "WD"), degreaser and rust inhibitor. It possesses some lubricating qualities, but it's not as good at it as a purpose-designed product like MPL or silicon spray.
Again, this is all FWIW. The only real downside to using WD-40 is you have to use the product more often.

A little oil never hurt anybody. Just don't use too much or dust can accumulate and make it gooey. YUCK!

It's always a good idea to keep you gear maintained. Keep all moving parts lubricated, it makes them last much longer and also makes them easier to use. More speed and response.

I have the same problem and I just figured it was from a cheap pedal. So thanks, too!

Your not stupid man. Trust me there are so many things I don't know as well. Here is what you do, get some WD 40 and lube it up on the bearings. That should work. If that does not work, let me know.
