"Hello drummers" from the sunshine state!

Hey DC Forum watchers,
My name is Jason. I've been lurking since I met the DC crew during their Clinic at Seminole Sound and Music. Great guys with an amazing site and incredible drummers to boot. Billy inspired me to begin reading and it has already come in handy getting me gigs. I asked about a drumless track that swings and Cash cooked it up quickly. This kind of drummer interaction has the potential to open doors for all of us. So thank you DC CREW!!

Me, I've played for about 15yrs total with only the last 6-7yrs of true dedication. I started playing rock/alternative then to blues, latin, world, and now jazz. I incorporate all into my playing and still gig around in these genres. My latest thing has been brushes. I'm always learning and open to critisism. I'm also a drum and cymbal junkie. My wife has sent me to rehad and cut off all my suppliers. So no more gear till we can get a bigger place. Check out my site for samples of playing/pics and what not.

Hey man I just became your fan. You are doing it nice, 3 bands, personal website, Original and versital styles. WorldWIde Zoo is my favorite, you guys are.....different =) very cool stuff! I checked out the vids as well on worldwide zoo. Awesome. Currently listening to: Mr. Whitman by Junkyard Kings. Oh, Santiago Rodriguez is the spitting image of this dude in my band..

Thanks debrasil! Worldwide Zoo is a very fun group to play in. We stretch like Richard Simmons. Very creative guys to play with. Pat wrote Mr. Whitman and is a very talented song writer. Santiago does have a distint style that's killin it. We're glad he's along for the adventure.

You cats rock! The cymbal collection has many wonderful stories to tell. Of course I can't pay retail for these things so I scour the web for deals and pounce. My father gave me his 60's A setup which is why I have so many vintage A's. And the Ludwigs were from him too. I look forward to the video Billy and of course, if I can help with that, I'm willing. I've gotten very comfy on the brushes. I'm no Ari Hoenig or Ed Thigpen, but my band members think I cook. Now on to starting some threads....

Hey Jason,
Do you have a way to shoot videos? If you could put something together I'll post it on our lessons page. It doesn't have to be serious production at all...just be able to hear & see what you're playing. I'm really trying to get other drummers to contribute to our lessons so if you can jump on board that would be awesome!!

I do have a camera and will put one together and send it to you. I am not very good with cameras or being video recorded so I'll cross the fingers on final product. This could prove to be fun.

Great to have you on board! Glad the reading is helping (I know it saved many gigs for me!!) Cool to hear you're into brush work now. I'm no expert by any means, but I'll try to get a lesson shot soon sharing what I've been able to pick up over the years.
