Development: Website Updates - 01.29.2008

drumfreak's picture

Since our return from NAMM, I have been working long hard hours on the website trying to increase our functionality and fix any bugs that our previous web developer may have left behind. I've been around this field for a long time and I'm confident I can whip this site back into shape.

Studio - Painting and Decking Completed

drumfreak's picture

We're moving along now. The studio is coming along well and we've got the walls painted, final inspection passed nad we've got the decking complete. Thanks to Mike, one of my old neighbors up in Orlando, FL, who came down to Kissimmee and helped us build this deck in one day. Mike, Damian and myself rocked this out and we're now ready for flooring of our choice. We're probably going to go with a Laminate flooring for the simple fact that its going to be a drum studio and we're going to have claws coming out of our stands and kick pedals. I'd hate to put a real hardwood floor and have to repair it later should we decide to move out of here.

Studio Insulation Complete

Well, I'm happy to say that the studio insulation is complete. Thanks to Tiger Foam Do-it-Yourself (DIY) spray foam insulation kits, I was able to finally get the insulation done.

Studio Delayed - Beware of this Insulation Company

If you live in or around Orlando, Kissimmee, St, Cloud Florida, and you are wanting to build your own studio with foam insulation, beware of who you deal with around here! Read more to find out about the recent delays in our studio build.

My Blue Man Group Poster! Framed!

drumfreak's picture

I'm a pretty good fan of Blue Man Group and when my friends over at Blue Man Library announced that they would have an eBay Auction for the Camp Heartland charity, I put my bid in to donate and I got something cool out of it. The poster is quite unique as it was signed by the Blue Men on the Megastar Tour. They signed the poster with the Mehron paint and sharpees. Also, Mike Relm signed it too. We seen this tour in Orlando and it was outstanding! I'll be hanging this with pride in my new Drum Studio that will be completed here in a few weeks!

Saying Goodbye to the Wood Shed - Building My Studio

drumfreak's picture

Well tonight was my last night playing in the woodshed. I'm finally converting the 900 square foot workshop / wood shop that was on my house when I bought it. The old owner was a master craftsman and woodworker and he built this very cool workshop on his house. Vacuum systems, Air Compressors, saws, you name it, it was a wall-to-wall man room. I'm not much of a wood worker, and my days of doing shop style work are long over, so since I love music so much and we've got some beautiful drumsets here, we're going to make the official Drummer Connection studio. Of course this will be attached to my house, but the office studios are around 45 minutes away in Kissimmee. Regardless, when we want to make some serious noise with the acoustic sets, we can't do that in the office complex, even in their studios, because they are more geared for TV production than audio sound stages.
