History was made once again at the World's Fastest Drummer Regional Finals in Nashville Tennessee! It was a great turnout as people traveled from across the US and even Canada to participate. While playing traditional grip Matt Smith at 18yrs old became the youngest person to surpass 1000 strokes per minute at the competition and ended up with 1132 per min. A NEW WORLD RECORD!!!! Matt was able to surpass the previous record of 1126 by Mike Mangini by only 6 Strokes. (averaging 1 extra stroke per 10 seconds if you do the math) The match grip winner was Gary Skipper at 896 BPM and for the feet it was Kevin Bernardy with 901 BPM. It was a special day for Kevin as he also celebrated his third year of sobriety, not to mention he traveled from Edmond, OK just to compete. Way to go guys!
