Phil Johnson Interview

Since it's conception the BB King's Blues Club has been providing guests with a premium and unique dining experience by combining great food, drink, and extraordinary musical entertainment. WIth only six locations nationwide it's a privilege just to have the opportunity to visit such an establishment. The ability of having access to one of these clubs in your own town is also an exceptional treat, but performing as a musician in the coveted All Star Band is reserved only for a select group of exceptionally talented minstrels. Playing an eclectic mix of Motown, R&B, blues and funk-it's no wonder why the artists chosen for Orlando's house band must be top notch. Drummer Connection has been blessed with the opportunity to have some very special people visit our sanctuary that we call the "drum room". Lately we were able to witness the astonishing talents of Phil Johnson, the beating pulse of BB King's All Star Band here in Orlando, FL. After an exhausting jam session we sat down with Phil to explore his mind and get a few pearls of wisdom regarding what it means to be part of such a great musical ensemble, but more importantly what it means to be a drummer in itself.
