Drummers are now in a better place than we've ever been. Living in a new age of evolving computer technology musicians can have access to a wide variety of instruments, sounds, and recording options. Although touring is and always will be a must, the long grueling days of studio work is now an alternative as artists record tracks from the comfort of their own home. With educational materials also becoming more accessible people can achieve a high level of musicianship limited only by one's passion to learn. Kamelot drummer Casey Grillo is no exception to the rule. A consummate professional and chameleon of many styles ranging from rock, metal, latin, jazz, and funk, Casey has eclipsed the learning curve throughout his career and 12 year stint with the power metal band Kamelot. When not on the road he spends time juggling tasks such as playing the local music scene and teaching private lessons at Seminole Music & Sound in Seminole, FL. An accomplished sound engineer, Casey also produces studio music tracks-not only recording his own, but other projects for such accomplished artists as John Blackwell and many more! While in town Drummer Connection had the chance to speak with Casey about his latest endorsements, Kamelot's new album, and the upcoming European tour.
