Drummer that needs to play with you. READ MY ENTIRE POST

drummer here. seriously. i'm writing this as i find yet another amazing musical project of mine evaporating, this time because the other people in the band not making nearly enough time for it. that being said, i don't want to sound like an egotistical or angry person. i swear that's my life goal: to be egoless, completely loving and the hardest working mutha you ever seen. i LOVE music. now let me back up here. i love music but people are just as important cuz for me, music is also about the friendships. i have been playing drums for 12 years now, am 26 and played violin for 5 years in elementary school (maybe i'll pick it up again but...) I AM A DRUMMER. i love people equally and want to help create a community such as the one(s) set in motion by the Grateful Dead and Phish. that does NOT mean that I want to be in a jamband. i am playing right now (for how long i don't know...) in a funky hard rock band with a metallish twist. our songs are complicated like Tool sometimes but they are much more available to the common listener (i don't want to say mainstream cuz i never want to be a part of that superficialNESS). i could see us in the FAR future opening for Rage Against the Machine or the Red Hot Chili Peppers. i say this mainly because we are so into our music that we know it will go far. again, though, as a group we are not able to play with our heads in it right now because the guitarist and bass player are going through some shit.... SO, i NEED to play in a band that has the time AND can make the time AND wants to make the time. having been in more than 10 musical projects in my life, i know how easy it is for ANY of those qualities to stop existing even for the most well-meaning people in the world (such as my current bandmates). I AM SICK OF EXCUSES. i need to know the people i play with intend to make it BIG but ONLY because they are workaholics of music (and elsewhere) and LOVE it too. NO EXCUSES. STOP WITH THE EXCUSES. there is ALWAYS time if you want to MAKE it. STOP WITH THE FAUX PAS's. i want to believe in the human race. LET'S all mean it in words AND EQUALLY actions. okay, so i'm ranting cuz i'm just now back to where i hoped i wouldn't be... I LOVE PEOPLE. there are always exceptions to these rules but those exceptions CANNOT become a theme. save that for the other half-assed drummers!! all this being said, i need to play music with some new people. are you the ones?!?! i am influenced heavily by: Jon Fishman, Danny Carey, Antonio Sanchez, Questlove and Billy Cobham. having started as a jazz drummer, i want to play music in the following genres (first one being top priority but all of them OUT OF THE BOX. i want to help start something NEW and FRESH and bring the music world back to its feet, while being completely humble the whole time): funk, jazz, hard rock, modern rock, metal (though i am a single bass drum pedal-er by choice but watch what i can do!). a combination of these is best. i also don't want to play (in order from most importantly): country, hardcore or jamband (though, of course, this term is so widely spread even to jazz bands, that I can't count it out really). call my boston cell and LEAVE A MESSAGE. i will get back to you almost immmediately!
