Hi!

Hey everyone. I'm Jamie. I'm 30 yrs old, a stay at home mom, and I'm a drummer. I've been drumming for more than half my life and I've done my time on a line (7 years; most of it on tenors or bass and that one time on cymbals), I've done orchestra/symphonic bands, steel band, mallet ensembles. I think my crowning moment was an audition for Blue Man Group where the casting directors gave me glowing reviews of my chops, but said I needed work on acting.

After my daughter was born, I tried to put drumming away for a bit. Kinda tried to avoid it. You can probably imagine how well that went. I'm reconnecting to that part of me and didn't realize just how much I've missed it.

I'm currently starting an all-female project here in Phoenix called Chickaboom. We're looking for drummers who, like me, may be aged out of Corps, may have lives but just need an outlet to rock from time to time.

When I'm not drumming or momming, I'm a writer. Right now I'm working on a series of novels about zombies in love. Lots of fun.

So yeah, that's me.

YAY! I just want to hug you! Humm. Hope thats not creepy......... Anyways....... I love to see girls drumming! None of the girls in my family have any rythym whatsoever and they all think im crazy for playing the drums. Thats awsome your starting an all girl drum band! You'll have to let us know when and where your gonna play!
