Hello.
I am new to this website and was wondering if there are any fellow Drumming Circle facilitators out there that would want to share some insights about their experiences?
Thanks
I like your style...The feel of the groove is soooo important...I don't think anyone needs to be encouraged if they can feel the music they will pickup the groove and join in....Some get cought up in the proper notes or traditional rhythems...There is no substitute for being able to go with the flow and groove of the music and the more musicans involved the more interesting the sound becomes...The first time I noticed this was John Broham solo in MOBY DICK...when he moved from drums to congos and Santana has helped me expand my hand playing also....but my best experience is just jammin with friends and no direction to follow but just follow each other with the groove and see where it takes us...Jam on / RockSteady

I found my interest in hand drums purely by accident and I love just creating beats.
I started this drumming circle last December and it is slowly growing; we've had great sessions and we've had some that were like pulling teeth to keep going.
Nevertheless I truly enjoy seeing peoples eyes when they come try it out and "fall into the groove".
What do some of you do to encourage the participators to experiment with the beats?
Thanks

I have jammed with a lot of great musicans over my many years of drumming. Many different styles and moods. I feel the important thing is to keep an opened mind about music but at the same time know what you expect from yourself and play as often as possible. To many musicans never reach their true potential because they do not put the practice time in, so a lot of great talent is lost...RockSteady
