New cymbal sleeve idea

darthmonkey113 - Tue, 06/30/2009 - 09:34 | 3,809 views

Hey, I had a thirty year old zildjian cymbal that wouldn't fit on any of my stands. So I removed all hardware from the cymbal mount and took mailing tape and wrapped it around the stand about thirty times and used it as the sleeve. It works so much better than the hard plastic sleeves! It lets the cymbal move so freely, I love it. Just thought i'd share my ingenious idea. If you like your cymbals to move alot, try it!

Hmm that's odd, how did it not fit on your stands?

The hole was about 2 mm too small. Aparently hardware has gotten bigger over the years.
