Sub Pop's 2012 SxSW Showcase Is Going to be Streaming All Over the Place

Sub Pop Blog - Wed, 03/14/2012 - 15:47

As you may or may not already be aware, right now the city of Austin, TX is in the midst of being utterly and quite happily engulfed by the South by Southwest Music, Film and Interactive Festival, Conference and Giant Branding Opportunity. And at this festival, we at the Sub Pop Recording Concern of Seattle, Wash, are hosting a showcase this coming Friday night, March 16th at Red 7. It will, we are very much hoping, be an exceptionally good time for everyone in attendance. We have already provided details on that, though.

The thing we have not yet provided details about is that even those of you NOT in actual, physical attendance can watch all of the performances on one of the two stages at our showcase online at TapIntoAustin2012.com! More specifically, you will be able to watch performances by these bands currently putting out records under the Sub Pop imprint of moderate-to-pretty-good quality: Spoek Mathambo, Niki & The Dove, THEESatisfaction. You will also be able to watch performances by Debo Band (who are putting out a record on Next Ambiance/Sub Pop in July) and Gashcat (whose records Sub Pop does not release, but who are playing the showcase just the same).

Also! There will be live events in five different cities where all manner of crazy and fun junk will be happening, along with the live streaming of the portion of Sub Pop’s 2012 South by Southwest showcase described at sufficient length in the previous paragraph. The full and complete details on all of this are here.
