The guys at Re-Axe products have been giving away their new Axe-Handler guitar stands like crazy. But they’re also leading up to a much bigger giveaway on their Facebook page.
Right now they’ve got about 8,300 fans on their Facebook page, and when they hit 10,000, which will be soon, they are going to give away a Fender America Stratocaster HHS. This is a seriously amazing guitar, and a very generous gesture. Let’s show them some support!
This contest has ended. Check out all current giveaways. No doubt you guys are all familiar with the very excellent “Undercover” series that the folks over at The A.V. Club put together. Of course you are. It is, after all, one of the 10 or 11 best things on the internet (somewhere just after this).
While on tour together not long ago, Sharon Van Etten (not on Sub Pop, still great) and Shearwater (Animal Joy very recently released on Sub Pop, also great) performed a cover of Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty’s duet “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” for those guys under the very reasonable name of Shearon Van Ettenwater. We like it a whole lot and maybe you will, too.
So! Watch Shearon Van Ettenwater perform Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.
Postscript:
We have done a not altogether awesome job of telling you guys about the Undercover performances our bands have done. There have been a bunch of them and all of them are really great. F’rinstance…
Fruit Bats did the Hall and Oates song One on One.
And, they came back later and did Loretta Lynn’s The Other Woman.
Dum Dum Girls did a terrific cover of Big Star’s terrific song September Gurls.
Here’s Low doing the Toto song Africa.
And then here Retribution Gospel Choir does Kokomo by the Beach Boys on what we’re going to go ahead and say was the very first installment of Undercover.
I’m sure there are more…
And there are!
Here’s Vetiver doing The Ramones’ Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want to Fight Tonight).
Iron and Wine took a swing at George Michael’s One More Try and knocked it right out of the f’in park.
