I call it "Day Job", but this is what I do most of the time these days, and I feel damn lucky to have the opportunity. All my buddies that know my musical taste are always saying "Country?" as if I just told em' I've got a new STD (Did I say "new"? Whoops! Hee, hee...) or something. We do about 150 shows a year now supporting Bucky's albums on Disney's Nashville Major: Lyric Street Records (Home of Rascal Flatts, and Billy Ray Cyrus), and we've been fortunate enought to do a four month stint touring with Dierks Bentley.
All I can say is I get to work with a sweetheart of a guy in Bucky. He's far more than my boss/a good friend I enjoy hangin'. His twin brother, Rocky, is our percussionist so that's totally cool. (Rocky and I are both Pearl Endorsers and we share a mutual interest in Motocross, Extreme Sports, and Football so I'm working with the right dudes!)
We've got a great band of guys both as players and just being great to hang with on the bus, traveling etc. Our guitarist, Jeff Cease, is the original lead guitarist in the Black Crowes. He's the guy on "Hard to Handle" and was in the band when they were world touring rock stars. He couldn't be less like that though and is a really good dude. Bass Player Steve is a damn good drummer in his own right, as is our Production manager, Brian Boggs (a TOTAL Prog Rock freak: His favorite band is Porcupine Tree, and he LOVES Rush! He's the one on the BMX bike in the hallways blasting past the road cases. Think that shot was from one of the arenas we visited as part of the Dierks Bentley tour this past winter and spring.)
*Coolest thing is Bucky is a big fan of The Power Triplets having come out to see our show in Nashville, bought the CD and from what Rocky tells me they still listen to it which never ceases to amaze me!
