ThatDrummerKid: Thanks for the complement.Unfortunately that was the only recorded solo I have, that was recorded live at my bar I use to own. I!ve done hunderds and hundreds of drum sols live in my life some were recorded. But when I moved to my new home I could not find the tapes. (Lost) Bob Mannong (Drummer)

King Says One handed roll

It sounds like you start the solo with a one handed roll and then start going around the toms. Is that it?

King:Thanks for listing to my solo.To answer your question about a one handed roll. The answer is no,I start with a single stroke roll to a double stroke roll, then just before I go to my toms you will hear a buzz sound that is me doing a triple stroke press roll(I learned seeing and listing from buddy rich.)I use the triple stroke roll through out the solo expect in the end, (with my snare turned off,) I used single stroke rolls.I started learning the triple stroke press roll in 1956.I was 8 years old.My mom just bought a rich kurpa drum battle album.I was lucky enough to have an old turn table at that time that had 78-45-33 1/2 and (16 1/2) speeds. When I put the album on at normal speed 33 1/2, Buddy Rich was to fast to learn from so I swiched to 16 1/2,low and behold I had Buddy Rich at half speed. That is how I learned.Bob Manning (Drummer)
