To tell you the truth, I only use an 8 channel peavey board from 1986, an eq, and my laptop with a recording program called acoustica mixcraft. I don't use gates on the drums either. I just have it mixed to the point where it takes all the ring out of the drums. Alot of people ask me what I use and after I tell them, they are surprised at the quality I get from just plain jane stuff. I always say, "it's all in how you mix it."
