It's actually a MIDI controller, and in this instance, I have it plugged into a JS-5 Jamm Station from BOSS as the sound module. This module only has about a dozen or so kits in slightly different configurations. Since then I have added a BOSS DR-880, which has an additional 100 drum kits, all with such amazing drum sounds.
With trying out many sound modules, I have had the most trouble finding the right cymbal sounds that don't sound too electronic. The cymbal sounds on the DR-880 are better than any I have ever heard. You can actually hear the crispness of the stick hitting the ride cymbal.
With this Zendrum, I can stand up from the drum kit in the middle of a song and keep playing. Its always an awesome sight when the drummer suddenly stands up and the drums keep going. Then, while still playing, I walk out to the front of the stage wearing this Zendrum and the crowd goes nuts trying to figure out what this thing is and where all this amazing sound is coming from.
Because it's a MIDI controller, I can play virtually any electronic instrument I plug it into. I have a full studio of Roland equipment.
I will be adding more video clips of other impressive electronic and acoustic percussion instruments. I'm still editing a few others I have done. Thank you for commenting on my video.
