This jam was fun to record!  I named it Choking that funky chicken because of how funky this groove is, it makes your kneck move like a chicken whie you're listening to it.  It takes the the old bass line from "Sly and the Family Stone's" Thank You For letting Be Myself as the base and branches off from there.  This piece was not structured, I liiteraly made it up as I went along starting with the bass and everything else just followed.  Hope you guys like this joint! ... read more...

Took a break for a minute to re-up on inspiration. What came to me more easily was going back to my roots of mixing church and funk together.  This groove is blazin! The bass is poppin out of control and  the clavs and guitars are dancing all over the place! This song was written by a guitarist and friend of mine named Mario Ticlea. He wrote this a few years back when we were involved in a project together.
