Any double pedal users out there?

I use one from time to time, depending on what group I'm working with.  I used a DW5002 for many years and it's still going strong on my practice set.

A couple of years ago I upgraded to the DW9002.  It's solid, quiet, quick, infinitely adjustable, and quite possibly the best pedal I've owned.

Anybody else?  What's your double pedal preference?

We at Drummer Connection have quite a few double pedals. I can say that most of us prefer the Pearl Eliminator double pedals. They are really smooth and responsive, as well as durable.  On one of my Gretsch kits, we have the DW-9000 single pedal, and on the other the DW-9002 double. I personally like all of these pedals, but the Pearl ones are my favorite.

I'm actually a Dw 5002 player. Always loved the pedal, and everytime you clean in and give it some maintnance, it's like a new pedal! The only thing i don't like about my pedal, is the universal joints that connect the two pedals has some "play" in them. Does anyone know how i could fix this. Do you think the factory would cover it?

Try contacting DW's customer service folks and explain what's going on.

My first double pedal was a Tama Iron Cobra and I loved it. It was a great pedal and it held up through much abuse and I never had any problems with it. As a matter of fact one of my students is using it now! But my latest is the Pearl Eliminator and I love it. Probable the most user-friendly, fully adjustable double pedal you can get. And you can't beat the price. When I worked at GC these things were flying out of my drum department like CRACK! So I guess what I'm saying is ......it's a pretty good pedal Grin

I have tried out the DW series pedals I thought they were really nice. However I ended up getting the eliminator and I really love it. Its nice and smooth, and it has a lot of different custom settings to help you to adjust your style.

I really love my 5002 DW's but the universal joints just get too much play in them.

I'm glad to see this topic as that is my next purchase.I've been playing a Gibralter Intruder II and it has took some serious abuse for about 6 yrs.I just want some thing faster. How does the DW 5002 and Iron Cobra compare because they are in my price range.Has anyone played on Axis pedals? I'm just curious if the price is justifiable.

I think axis is a little to expensive. I'm sure they are one of the best on the market, but I could never afford it.

Trick makes an amazing pedal, as well.

I have their single pedal, but the double is WAY cool.  Made from solid aluminum billets, the thing is rock solid, crazy adjustable, smooth, and quiet.

I've played an Iron Cobra for years. Its a decient peddal but after 6 years it's a little clunky and if I don't oil it regularly the mics will pick it up.

I have used the Pearl 2002 and the DW 5002. In comparison, I happen to like the DW's better and am selling the Pearl's. My DW's have been smoother and I can make them work with a lighter feel. I happen to like the ease of adjustment better in the DW's than the Pearl's too. Swapping cam's is not my favorite thing, for instance. I am now using the right foot half on jazz gigs too. I also like the footboard on the DW's.
As usual, just personal preference though.
