Looking through the forums couldn't help to find there were no topics like this one.

The subjects says is all. Who is your favorite drummer?

Obviously we must admire the legends, gene krupa, buddy rich, ed shaughnessy, etc. but we all have to have a favorite.

So post your favorite drummer and why you like him/her. I'd love to check em out.

My favorite drummer would have to be a tie between Marco Minneman, and Mike Portnoy. Both because of their complex beats and timing, and Marco mostly for his amazing 4 limb ambidexterity.

Well, I have many Favorite Drummers, For Example:
Mike Portnoy
Neil Peart
Van Williams
Gene Hoglan
Tim Yeung
Morgan Ågren
Jason Bittner

But I have one who rises above them all in my mind, Romain Goulon. He now plays in a Progressive Technical Death Metal Band, Necrophagist. They are recording an album, Which is due this year.

I was really influenced by guys like Morgan Rose, Danny Carey, Josh Freeze, Jojo Mayer, Tony Royster Jr., Carter Beauford, and Ray Luzier just to name a few. It would take me all day to list everyone. It's hard to think of just one.

My favorite drummer would have to be Danny Carey. He has amazing poly rhythms. I just love his style it's hard and driving like John Bonham but has a really funky feel to it. I'm currently learning a song by Tool, it's Ticks and Leaches and it's very hard. I've already learned most of 46 & 2 and it's a very fun song.
