Pearl artist Fausto Cuevas will be performing as the Guest of Honor at the Universoul Percussion Clinic in Brownsville, TX 3/13/08. A Brownsville native himself,Fausto is also a Berklee Music graduate and has studied with legendary artists Giovanni Hildago,Horacio "EL Negro" Hernandez,and is currently touring with Stevie Wonder. Hosted by the RGV Drummers Union, President and Founder Mario Del La Cruz expressed that this would be the first of many clinics geared to promote musical education and health awareness. The organization is based out of Brownsville,TX and encompasses a 60 mile radius of about 15 cities. Drummers will benefit from discounts on drum gear, private clinics, lectures from chiropractors, attorneys, and accountants, & tons of percussion info. Every drummer is welcome to sign up and the event is open to the public.The clinic's health segment will feature Dr. Esmeralda Garcia and Dr. J. Todd Boyd, both of which will be giving lectures on the prevention and treatment of carpal tunnel and tendinitis. Mario De la Cruz will also be unveiling his new custom drumsticks and cymbals so show your support and come celebrate the love of music!
