Seminole Music and Sound

The other day I had the pleasure of visiting a local shop called Seminole Music and Sound. Having been in business for over 25 years , the store has made it's home in a shopping plaza near beautiful Lake Seminole for the past eight.
Carrying just about all of the top names in the industry whether it be drums, guitar ,bass ,recording, lessons or otherwise Seminole Music and Sound offers a variety of different tastes for today's musician. Also one of the few local stores I've ever been to that was actually open 7 days a week. The staff was knowledgeable, gracious, friendly and very accessible. Manager John Spinelli even took time out of his busy schedule to have a lunch meeting with me. A Florida native himself, in addition to running the store Spinnelli also plays an awesome Ddrum custom kit for the local and popular "Big Brother Band". Just ask Army of Anyone's drummer Ray Luzier, who was fortunate enough to play it when he sat in at one of John's gigs during a Florida clinic tour. After getting to know John a little better I could see he was a really down to earth guy dedicated to giving drummers what they want: cool gear, great discounts, and life changing opportunities to better themselves by taking advantage of his on site educational staff , whether it be accredited Julliard graduate Glenn Meyer or a roster of master clinicians that visit the store on a regular basis. Christmas comes early this year as in December their guests include Kamelot drummer Casey Grillo and the amazing John Blackwell......both of which will give PRIVATE LESSONS! That's right, not only clinics, but private one-on-one instruction from some of the best in the business....need I say more? So next time you are in the area or like me just have a day off, make it worth your while to check out Seminole Music and Sound. You'll be glad you did, and we at Drummer Connection look forward to meeting you there for their upcoming events.

Next time!!
Submitted by drumfreak on Fri, 11/30/2007 - 11:13.Next time I'm in Tampa Bay area, I'm checking this store out. It kicks ass that it is open 7 days a week. Nothing is more frustrating than getting the wild idea to kick off to a drum store on Monday to find out that they are closed...
I'm gonna go see John Blackwell for sure...
Great
