New to Site, and Instrument

Hey there everybody! Came across this site through an ad on YouTube and thought it looked interesting. I'm glad I clicked on an ad for once lol. Like I said, I'm new to the instrument. I've been playing for only 3 months, but I'm in love. I finally found my instrument. My kit is an electronic Simmons SD7K with a snare, 3 toms, bass kick pad, hi-hat, crash and ride. For my pedal I'm using a Pearl Double Bass setup (I don't remember the model). I like it, but I'm seriously considering selling it and buying an acoustic kit. If ya'll have any suggestions for a good "starter" kit, I'd like to hear em'. Thanks and looking forward to visiting this site more and more as I take on the drums.

Yeah, the Gretsch Catalina series is great for the money! But I have also had alot of experience playing the PDP by DW drums and they sound great, cause they are 100% maple shells!

Hey! Welcome to Drummer Connection. Thanks for joining and we're glad to have you.

As far as a "Starter" Kit, try a Gretsch Catalina Club kit or even a Gretsch Renown Maple perhaps. Gretsh makes excellent drums and you can find recordings of us playing on mine all over the site. Otherwise, there's other great companies as well, such as DW's PDP line could get you started for under $1,000.
