I realized last week that I am around live drums (not including my playing) 6 days every week. I teach drums and lead bands on Sunday and Wednesdays. Lately I've noticed some ear ringing and need to catch this before it becomes a bigger problem. I use in ears on Wednesdays and Sundays, so no huge problem there. But I need some protection to save my ears from the parade of 10 year olds with drum sticks that come through my life each week! Suggestions?

I think over ear mufflers are what I'm really looking for. One of my students brought in a pair that his dad uses at a gun range and not only did they really cut out a lot of the DB, but I actually liked the crisp sound that the mufflers provided. I'm looking into some Mack Hearplugs for playing, but I think over ear mufflers are the way to go for during lessons. Any suggestions?

noise cancelling earphones work pretty well but I also use over ear mufflers or earplugs
