Hi there. After doing lots of research I have finally got round to buying ddrum pro triggers and a roland td-8 module. After connecting everything up, it seems to be working with varying degrees of success.
I play heavy metal/thrash/metalcore etc, so I am looking for sounds to that effect. I cannot really find anything to my liking, so my first question is whether or not I should invest in an external patch of 'metal' sounds, and whether they are worth it, or whether I should modify the pre-existing sounds. If it possible to get great sounds by modifying the sounds on the module, how do I go about that and does anyone have any recommendations?
I am also having some trouble setting the sensitivity and threshhold on the triggers, and playing fast on the toms is sometimes not picked up by the triggers. Can anyone suggest a suitable setting for these? I am fairly lost in this new world of electronic sounds so any help would be greatly appreciated!
Last of all, I want to know whether or not it is possible to load samples onto the module (I believe it is, but have been given confliction reports as to whether or not I would need a laptop as well as the module) and if it is possible, how to do it with using just the module.
Thank you for your help in advance!

FYI- THE METAL SOUNDS YOU SEEK ARE A BLEND OF THE MIKED SHELL AND THE TRIGGERED SAMPLE. IF YOU WANT FULL SAMPLE THAT SOUNDS LIKE MODERN METAL, LOOK INTO BFD2 OR EQUIVALENT. I USE ROUND 40 PERCENT D4 TRIGGERED SAMPLE WITH 60 MIC'D SHELL ON KICK AND SNARE AND FULL NATURAL TOMS TO AVOID THE TYPICAL ROLL ISSUES RELATED TO TRIGGERING. LOVE THE KICK THAT WAY, HATE EVERYTHING ELSE ABOUT THE TRIGGERED SOUNDS.
