acoustic trigger dtx2 help needed bad. please read!

yes, i know. i have spent years perfecting the art of tuning and have very pro sounding kits. thats not what im after. i play in a few projects in different genres of music so wanted to expand the effects, and be able to triggers seq. parts to songs. no issue here. the problem is triggering my kick for a uniform sound in all venues.
i have a yamaha dtx2 modual to trigger just kick. bought a red shot for it as i run emad2 heads and they fit those. i have studied all the aspects of tuning triggers, but the parameters are not listed as what new modules call things like threshold, sensitivity, latency, mask time, etc. the issue im having is with the red shot and 9 oclock position on kick, is g_d awefull. does not pick up the hits more than half the time, sensitivity seems to change back and forth, and double triggering real bad to. i do not want to change tuning nor stuff my laundry in my cannon. it will be used in conjunction with the real mic'd output.
can anyone shed light on this as i have gone through all the setting in trigger portion in module and it gets to the point were i can play a simple beat only, no double pedal, not bonham single foot stuff. this is not cool. think its a setting issue? tuning/muffling? if upgrading to a pro shot or roland trigger will help, ill do that to. whatever. just dont want to get a better trigger if i cant adjust module better than this!
you have all been a blessing in the past and i look to you for wisdom. i know someone here has messed with this setup and got it to work. or not! keith

you know what? it was a faulty red shot. imagine that. even after reading 90% bad crap about the wireing, jacks, and mounting i bought one anyway. my bad. even if this thing worked, after seeing it i dont feel it would last on the road anyhoo. save youre money and by a roland or even a pro shot for that matter. the jack was bad even after finding the ground wire not soldered. jeese, 2 things on a new unit? come on ddrum, im tempted to not even buy your pro shots now......keith
