We are Dakesis, a five piece prog-power metal band based in Birmingham (specifically Kings Norton)

Our influences are vast and can be found in more detail on the bio section of our website (www.Dakesis.com)

We have built a solid reputation on the Midlands metal scene and have an albums worth of material ready to record (plus lots more material ready to follow!)

We have our own practice space so there's no lock-up/practice fee's, but you would be expected to make your own way to Kings Norton for practice. We practice regularly, generally two times a week so we need you to be able to commit, though we can be flexible with days and generally arrange them as and when we are free.

Having recently lost our drummer, we are looking for someone to fill the space as soon as possible.

We are currently looking for a full time drummer with the following qualities:

* Committed, reliable and professional

* High standard of playing with good double bass technique

* No other bands/major commitments

* Own professional standard gear

* Good writing ability and improvisation

* Must be available for weekly/bi-weekly rehearsals and frequent gigging (and be available for out of town gigging)

* A good sense of humour and be up for a laugh. We spend a lot of time together and are the very best of friends, and we want someone who we can socialize with as well as have a good professional relationship with.

* Similar musical interests and influences

* Own transport is preferable but not essential

* Backing vocals are a huge advantage

* Able to play to a click (we don't play to a click live, but it's a necessity for recording)

* No drugs / excessive drinking

We've got lots of gigs coming up (as well as some festival dates in the summer), but are able to play them with our current line-up until a suitable replacement is prepared.

We won't rush you into playing gigs, but want someone who is willing and able to learn the material quickly. We're a very friendly, supportive band who are willing to help as much as we can, you won't just be dumped a load of tab and told to go away and learn!
