Tune Tenor Drums and other Marching Percussion, even Tune Timpani with iDrumTech Mobile Drum Tuner App! In this video, I visited Carlton Music Center in Winter Haven, FL and we tuned a set of Stingray Quint Tenors that are very old, but in great condition. The drum heads on these tenors have been played on by students for several years. This is my first time tuning a set of Stingray or even Tenors, so I had to take some time to get to know the drums. After a few minutes, I get to tuning and I'm mostly aiming for the fundamental pitch by getting the lugs evened out. Also take notice that there's a strike pad surface on these drums, so that's going to slightly affect the tuning. I just compensated for this by tuning those a little higher than the lugs that did not have the white surface.
